About The Score
This beautiful film was shot part in China and part in LA, and is a spooky story laden with the overwhelming suspense of asian horror films. I had the great pleasure of recording two fantastic soloists on the score: Fred Selden who did all the flute solos for The Last Samurai, on Bamboo Flutes, and Victor Lawrence, who played all the cello solos on The Changeling. As soon as the film is completed I'll have some video samples posted here.

Krochet Kids is a spot written and directed by the world renouned director and producer Jesse Harris. This commercial single handedly changed Bing's entire advertising strategy to focusing on telling stories like this one to illustrate the power of their company.

LE GROS ORTEIL
This score was a joy to write, because I was able to adapt some of orchestral colors of Ravel and Debussy which were made popular by Bernard Herrmann when he worked on the famous Hitchcock films. The score was recorded with a full orchestra at Firehouse Studios in Pasadena, and I'm quite happy with the sound. One of most unique aspects of the production was writing the song Kisses and Hatchets with director Matt Quezada. I wrote the music and melody, and recorded myself humming the tune and the sent it to Matt and requested that he write some devilish lyrics in French. He wrote them, and then came into the studio to record the vocal and did a great job.

WORLD ENOUGH AND TIME
This quirky independent feature was joy to score. I decided to give the music an 60's Italian cinema vibe, which is a genre I've always wanted to work in. We tracked the score at Sage and Sound studios in Hollywood with a killer band, and to this day it is one of my favorite recordings.

Distraxion is a great animated short film by Dreamworks animator Mike Stern. This inventive, and amazingly well animated film was a great musical challenge. For the first time ever, I was comissioned to write a tune with that special 80's ballad feel, AND I had the extreme pleasure of completely rocking out to a truly gnarly degree.
