A Film By Joe Mckelheer
Geldersma was one of my very first live action films and it holds a special place for me. I found myself working with a great group of independent actors and producers living in Hollywood supporting eachother in a vibrant community of creativity, and I still have these inspiring relationships today. I recorded the score in my first studio, which was stiched together with the barest of supplies and I'm still quite proud of how nicely it came out.

When kweisi's brother was murdered, he fell into a deep depression -- and pulled himself out through poetry. This documentary short was made for the Elevate Film Festival. This is another project I've done with director David Sauvage, and this time it was very interesting because the entire film had to be produced in one week.

Marina is a stage musical that I wrote with Sandy Wolf. It is in a classic style, and has a very entertaining story line. The work is currently being very well received in workshops, and will see the light of day very soon! These pieces are the a few of the piano demos that circulate with the musical as it is being pitched.

Distraxion is a great animated short film by Dreamworks animator Mike Stern. This inventive, and amazingly well animated film was a great musical challenge. For the first time ever, I was comissioned to write a tune with that special 80's ballad feel, AND I had the extreme pleasure of completely rocking out to a truly gnarly degree.
